International talent day: the University of Parma opens its doors to companies and international students
On March 24th, the University of Parma hosts the first edition of its career event for international talent — and from 4:00 to 5:30 PM, it-ER takes the stage with its Ambassador Lab, a community space built by and for international talents in Emilia-Romagna.
The University of Parma is launching its first International Talent Day, a full-day career event scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at the Centro Congressi Sant’Elisabetta on the Campus Scienze e Tecnologie. The tagline says it all: Meet Local, Grow Global. The event is organized under the UNIPR4TALENTS: Talentuosi si diventa project and is funded by European Funds from the Emilia-Romagna Region, in collaboration with it-ER – International Talents Emilia-Romagna.
The day is designed for international students and graduates who want to explore career opportunities in the region, connecting them directly with local and national companies looking for diverse, multilingual, globally-minded profiles.
On the road to
In preparation for the March 24th event, it-ER will also participate in the SkillUp Prep Workshop, an online webinar scheduled for Monday, March 16th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
During this session, designed to help candidates strengthen their CVs and personal pitches for interviews with recruiters, an exclusive preview of the Ambassador Lab will be presented. It will be the ideal opportunity to understand how to enhance your international profile and best prepare for the networking sessions on March 24th.
A full day of opportunities
The morning kicks off at 9:30 AM with a welcome and institutional opening, followed from 10:00 AM to noon by Company Spotlights — short presentations where participating firms introduce themselves, their culture, and the roles they are hiring for. From noon to 1:15 PM, the format shifts into something more dynamic: a Speed Date session where international talents and company representatives meet face to face in rapid, structured rounds. After a lunch break, the afternoon from 2:30 to 4:00 PM is dedicated to one-to-one interviews between candidates and companies, offering a more in-depth and personal exchange.
Running in parallel, two Networking Sessions give international talents the chance to connect with each other and with company representatives in a more informal setting.
it-ER closes the day with the Ambassador Lab
The day’s final session, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM, belongs to it-ER. Co-organized by ART-ER in collaboration with Common Home APS, the “TEA & DESIGN” event invites international talents and Italian returnees to connect and share their journeys… over a cup of warm tea!
This is not a traditional lecture, but a participatory moment where young talents are the protagonists. The afternoon will be structured into four key phases:
- Ice breaking: a welcoming session focused on participant interaction accompanied by a selection of international teas and refreshments.
- Brainstorming: a dynamic debate where participants share personal insights and reflections on their life in the city.
- Co-design: a collaborative workshop at thematic tables (Transport, Leisure, Culture, Job Seeking, Networking, etc.) to propose sustainable improvements for the local ecosystem.
- Final Discussion: the final synthesis where each group presents their co-designed ideas to foster a shared vision for the community.

Why it matters
The International Talent Day at Parma is part of a broader regional effort to retain international graduates who have studied in Emilia-Romagna and encourage them to build their careers locally, rather than leaving for other countries or cities. By bringing students, alumni, and companies into the same room — literally — the event cuts through the uncertainty that often keeps international talent from exploring local job markets.
