it-ER Ambassador Day 2026: navigating connections, culture and community in Cesena
On 9 May 2026, the city of Cesena hosted the 5th edition of the it-ER Ambassador Day, the annual gathering dedicated to the international network of university students, PhD candidates, researchers and knowledge workers who promote the Emilia-Romagna innovation ecosystem.
The day opened at the iconic Biblioteca Malatestiana, one of the oldest and best-preserved Renaissance libraries in the world, where participants were welcomed by presentations from ART-ER and Cesena4Talents before taking part in a guided tour of the library’s extraordinary collections. Ambassadors then set off on an interactive tour of Cesena’s historic city centre — an opportunity to discover the city through curious eyes and, along the way, take part in the photo competition: participants were invited to capture what inspired them most and share it as a story tagging ART-ER. The winning photo, selected by the number of likes on ART-ER’s profile, was announced over lunch at WellDone Cils Social Food, with a prize to be spent at Babbi Caffé, one of Cesena’s most beloved spots.
The afternoon session brought the group together for the Ambassador Passport Challenge: divided into teams, participants competed to answer questions on the culture, history, art and geography of the cities of the Emilia-Romagna Talent Network. Each correct answer brought the team closer to earning a stamp in their A3 passport — stamps hand-drawn by the Ambassadors themselves, representing each city-embassy in their own creative way. The team with the most stamps took home the it-ER Ambassador trophy, a travelling mascot that will journey across the region from one edition to the next.
The event concluded with a plenary session in which the groups shared their ideas and reflections, closing a day full of energy, creativity and genuine exchange between international talents from across the region.
